Setting up email on your iPhone can be easy if you have a sound understanding of Pop and Imap settings. Setting up email requires proper configuration of inbound and outbound servers so you can successfully receive and send emails. These settings can be obtained from your respective email service provider. Users need these settings to configure email with different email clients.     

Easy steps to configure email on iPhone

  1. On the Home Screen, hit the Mail icon.
  2. Scroll down to, and tap, Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Select Add Account      
  4. Select Add Mail Account      
  5. Type in your name, email address, password and tap Next      
  6. Select IMAP,  sign in the incoming mail server, username and password, and also outgoing mail server, username and password and tap Next      
  7. Tap Yes on both of the screens that appear advising on not being able to connect using SSL     
  8. Leave the settings as they are and tap Save     
  9. Tap the newly created account   
  10. Tap Account Info    
  11. Ensure the settings are correct and then tap the Outgoing Mail Server entry at the bottom    
  12. Tap on the Primary Server entry
  13. Ensure SSL is Off and Authentication is Password. If the port is 1025, hit Done. Press  the Home button to start using your account
